The Journey North
Corvinas spends his days studying the book he found about the archeological dig site. He finds out that the location played a pivotal role in the ancient times during the transition of eras from Dracone to Sharde otherwise known as the era of Dragons to the Era of Gods. The site was a location of a major battle between the dragons and gods with the mortals a mere sidenote. The location existed before year.
We also find that Teddy is a geek.
The week goes by with no encounters on our journey.

The Quiet Travel
The next three days go by without incident. And the lack of encounters and other travellers is a little unnerving.

Shadow Sightings
Roon was beginning his normal routine of calisthenics and exercise to keep his mind and body fit and ready. He noticed a strangeness that he couldn’t quite place his finger on. The shadows seemed to move, to shift, on their own. He felt it in and about the caravan. He talked to the party and Mikani conferred with Gildas encouraging him to seek some knowledge from his knowledge of the Arcane world. Gildas senses that the shadows seem cosmic and necrotic from the Abyssal plane while talking to the plants and flora around the encampment.
Gildas begins the ritual of detection and he senses magic all around of necrotic divination but not as a single source like a beacon of magical energy, but more like a faint trace left over from magicks long ago. Gildas catches movement out of the corner of his eye and believes there to be someone or something in shadows. He investigates the shadow and senses the abyssal ancient magic. Suddenly he sees four disparate lights fly from the area and the magic disappears.
Mikani talks to the plants and says that there are no buildings or man made structures around this area. She senses both fey and undead presence coming from somewhere within the caravan. She senses the Abyssal all around. And detects two strange influences within the party – both celestial and fiendish.
Corvinas talks to the rangers that have been accompanying the caravan. He notices that it is mainly an archer heavy force that are equipped with beautifully crafted long bows and wearing light armor. The leader mentions nothing unusual and gives off a very professional and stand-offish aura.
I, on the other hand, notice this guy that doesn’t seem quite “right” to me that is hanging around in a rickety old carriage in the back of the caravan. We discuss all manner of things including the archeological dig site we are travelling towards. He mentions that his name is Sam and that the archeologists must take care at that site for he knows that if the protection surrounding the site is removed, it may be the death of us all due to the ancient magic from the site. It would signify the return of the arcane, the return of the wells and many ancient curses. Sam rummages through his stuff and shows me a small ring made of green glass imbued with a strange energy. I ask what he intends with the ring and he mentions giving it to the quartermaster.

2 more days of travel and we reach the dig site. There are makeshift ladders and digging tools all about. My thoughts keep going back to that ring and the strange man at the back of the caravan. I try to learn more about the ring through my codex of songs. I do recall a long form poem that describes the very ring and that it provided protection to the wearer and that it was very powerful. I try to steal the ring from the suspicious man that I meet at the back of the caravan
